Silverstone Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship report
Liam Delves was at Silverstone over the Easter weekend for the opening round of the Pirelli National Superstock 600 championship but the weekend didn’t go according to plan when he crashed out of his race on lap six of 15.
Riding for his new team VMR Racing, Delves enjoyed his free practice and qualifying laps and began his race on Sunday from a fourth-row grid position. He was just beginning to make up ground and was holding 11th position when he slipped off the bike at Brooklands, his race over.
“It has been a very emotional weekend at Silverstone for me. It was my first race with my new team, Sheffield based Via-Moto on the Kawasaki UK Ninja ZX6R and I feel that I’m in a great place with a solid team behind me. I am just sorry I couldn’t bring a result back for the team this time. But we have many positives to take from this weekend and I am feeling happier and more confident than I have for a long time. I would like to thank all my personal sponsors for their continued support and everyone that came along to show their support. I will put this non-finish behind me and move on to the next round.”
The next round is at Oulton Park over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend of May 4/6.
